About Us

Trout in the Trym is a community group of dedicated volunteers who actively improve the ecology of the River Trym in north Bristol. This video, narrated by Peter Coleman-Smith, a knowledgeable Trout in the Trym member explains more.

With thanks to Bristol Avon Catchment Partnership for the video.

Since the video was filmed, an assessment of the weirs and obstructions in the Trym and Hazel Brook has been completed. Trout in the Trym are now looking for ways to deliver the recommendations outlined in the assessment report to carry on improving the river habitats for wildlife. Additionally, funding has been received for communities to carry out litter picking in their local patch and green spaces to prevent litter from reaching the Trym and Hazel Brook. Trout in the Trym would like to continue working with local partners to improve the water environment, particularly in identifying problematic misconnections.
