Litter picking in the green spaces that surround the River Trym and the Hazel Brook is an important way of reducing the litter that enters the water.
There are several groups who organise litter picking activities in their local area. Do contact them to find out more.
Sustainable Westbury-on-Trym (SusWoT)
SusWoT are running a project called ‘Keep it Clean’. A trained SusWoT team will keep the River Trym itself clean, but they want to recruit local people to keep the green spaces and nearby roads clean. SusWoT received a grant from Bristol Avon Rivers Trust to buy equipment for litter picking volunteers. They are looking for help to clean Southmead Trym Valley Open Space, Crow Lane Open Space and Sea Mills Open Space.
